      harbours.  In North Africa,  her  clearance of che Tripoli harbour entrance was  of
      rhe  urmosc  importance to  the Allied  Forces,  as  it enabled badly  needed  supplies
      co reach the army when chey needed it most. She compleced a considerable amount
      of salvage work and was  also  the first Allied ship co  enter Marseilles.  For ber re-
      markable achievemencs  she  won  several  laurels  and  the  praise of many.
           South Af.dca recalls with pride che great sacrifices made by her sailors in che
      Mediterranean during the  Second  World War and the hazardous minesweeping
      operations which continued after i t end ed. The achievements of South Africans ser-
      ving in the Mediterranean, in their own ships, as well as aboard Royal Naval ships,
      established che proud fighting tradition which has served as an inspiration for the .
