The long path of construction of the Italian Republic is paved
by many important events that have preceded and prepared

the Constitution issued in 1948; this process stems also -and
above all- from the sacrifices of hundreds of thousands of

Italians. These Italians proudly wore the uniforms of our Ar-
med Forces and fought bravely during the Second World War.
They also decided to organise themselves into patriotic units,

established the Italian Resistance and fought valiantly beside
the Armed Forces.
