Sacco, however, never parted with cryptology and continued, for most of his life, the activity in
this field. In addition to writing the ‘Manuale’ and taking care of three editions of the book, he
delivered many classes on the subject . He remained committed to spreading the cryptographic

culture across the Italian Armed Forces, and finally worked to improve the Army tools in this field:
an encoding machine patented in 1941 and entrusted for its construction to the Nistri company in
Rome, has unfortunately been lost .
