          Major (Res.) in the Israeli Army Allon KLEBANOFF,  his main field of specialty is the
          18th and 19th centuries. He is a founder member of the Israeli Napoleonic Association,
          as well as a fellow of the International Napoleonic Society (INS).


          Prof. Krzysztof  KUBIAK  (borm 1967), PhD is retired Commander  of the Polish
          Navy. He graduated from Naval Academy in Gdynia and Gdansk University (political
          science). He defended his PhD thesis at the Naval Academy in 1998 and post-doctoral
          (habilitation) in 2003 at the National Defence University in Warsaw. At present he is the
          Dean of  Technical Sciences Division at the University of Lower Silesia in Wrocław. He
          is interested in war and conflicts after the Second World War, asymmetric threats such as
          terrorism and maritime piracy. Hobbies consist scuba diving and battlefield sightseeing.


          Prof. Lasse  LAAKSONEN,  works  as  Adjunct Professor (Docent) of Finnish and
          Scandinavian History in the University of Helsinki, of Military History in the National
          Defence University and of Military History in the University of Eastern Finland.

          Prof. Nicola LABANCA (Florence, 9 July 1957) graduated in 1984 at the Faculty of
          Humanities at the University of Florence. He was at this time awarded various (1981,
          1982) grants by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for study abroad.
          Between 1984 and 1986 he was a grant-holder of the Turin Fondazione Luigi Einaudi
          and for a period studied in London (including at the University of London, Dept. of War
          Studies).
          Between 1986 and 1989 he studied for a doctorate  at  Turin University, returning
          once again to Britain thanks to an Erasmus grant (including at the London School of
          Economics and Political Science).
          In 1990 he received the title of cultore della materia of Military history at the political
          science faculty of Padua University. In 1991–1992 he received a post-graduate bursary
          from the History department of the University of Siena. Between 1994 and 1996 he was
          a temporary professor at the Political Science faculty of the University of Macerata.
          From 1996 he was researcher of contemporary history at the Humanities faculty of the
          University of Siena where, from 2002, he is associate professor. In 2010 he was awarded
          ‘idoneità’ to full professorship

          History.

          Dr.  Bernd  LEMKE  (born  1965) works as a  historian  with  the  German  Centre  for
          Military History and Social Sciences in Potsdam. His research interests include counter-
          insurgency, air-raid protection, and colonial history. He is currently preparing a book-
