           Col. DAVID  MARTELO  Graduated from the Portuguese Military Academy as an
           Infantry Officer (2nd Lieutenant) in 1966. Between 1967 and 1972, served two tours
           of duty in Angola, during the war against the local liberation movements; the first of
           these tours, as platoon leader and company executive officer (2nd Lieutenant) and in the
           second as company commander (Captain).
           After the war, attended and graduated in “Infantry Officer Advanced Course” from the
           U.S. Army Infantry School. Soon after, attended and graduated in “Staff Course” from
           the Portuguese Army Staff College.

           Prof. João Gouveia MONTEIRO (né en 1958, à Coimbra) est professeur d’histoire
           romaine, d’histoire médiévale européenne et d’histoire militaire à l’Université de Coimbra.
           Durant six années (1995-2001) il a coordonné un projet de recherche interdisciplinaire
           sur le champ de bataille d’Aljubarrota (où, le 14 août 1385, a été livré le plus important
           combat de l’histoire médiévale portugaise). Pendant l’année scolaire 2001-2002, il a
           enseigné comme Professeur Associé à l’Université Paul Valéry (Montpellier III). Entre
           2003 et 2007 il a exercé les fonctions de Pro-Recteur de l’Université de Coimbra, et,
           entre 2009 et 2011, celles de Directeur des Presses Universitaires de Coimbra.
