3) Guerilla Troops 500 (PG-500).

On July 15 1962, 87 members of PG-500 departed from Gebe Island to West
Irian land. When they arrived at Waigeo Island, they met with Herlina group.
Herlina was a leader of a volunteer group who became liaison for other guerilla
troops. They also spread pamphlets and wrote a story about Indonesia struggle

for West Irian. PG-500 then successfully came at Sansapor on July 17 , 1962 and
destroyed the Dutch radio installation on the next day.
4) Guerilla Troops 600 (PG-600).

On March 23 1962, 31 members of PG-600 from Ujir and Karwi region were
departed to Jera river. 24 soldiers successfully infiltrated alive but the other 7
soldiers who still onboard were shot by Dutch Neptune Aircraft at Etna Bay on
Watubelah Islands and assumed lost.
5) Observer Unit.
The intelligence unit which centered in Gorong Island/ Seram had goals to obtain
intelligence information and infiltrated several times into territory of West Irian
since March 13 until May 1962. They also deployed pamphlets to raise the

struggle spirit of local people.
b. The Infiltration through Sea on Mandala Command Period.
Since the forming of Mandala Command, the infiltration activities through sea towards
Mandala period were continued to the forces and bases progression. In facilitating
command control, the infiltration task area was divided into posts as follows:
1) The Infiltration from Post 101/ Hanggada.
The South Post (Pos 101) has been extended till Tual. The Battalion 521/
Brawijaya was planned to go to Kaimana through Badar Lumut Operation Order.
The infiltration did not work at all because the Dutch warships patrolled so tight.
2) The Infiltration from Post 102/ Kapi Jembawan.

On August 7 1962, Menpor Brimob and the volunteers were successfully
beached at Rumbati beach near Patipi. When the boat returned, it was attacked by
the Dutch Neptune aircraft but soon defended by Mig 17 aircraft from Indonesian
Air Force. Hence the boat could return safely.
3) The Infiltration from Post 103/ Hanilo.
On June 1962, the Battalion 515/ Brawijaya through Bandar Besi Operation was
moved from Gebe Island and escorted by Motor Torpedo Boats (MTB) towards
the land of West Irian. However they were blockaded by the Dutch warships and
failed to infiltrate.
4) The Infiltration from Wahai Post.

On August 9 1962, 90 soldiers of Raiders Company Kodam XV from Wahai were
successfully crossed Sioh Sea towards Misool. However in the next infiltration on
August 11 1962, they went back because met the Dutch destroyer ship. Then the

beaching effort of Raider troops on August 12 1962 was hardly attacked by the
Dutch but they could be safely beached.
