Paradise.
And here we come to King Juba II of Mauretania. The son of Juba I,
a follower of Pompey, was raised by Octavian Augustus, who gave him
as wife Cleopatra Selene, daughter of Cleopatra and Mark Antony, and
returned his paternal kingdom to him, replaced shortly after with that of
Mauretania. Of Juba II we know that, thanks also to his Roman upbring-
ing, he was a just king. He travelled extensively along the African coasts;
as for his landing on what would later be called the Fortunate Isles, all is
but hypothesis and inconsistent reports.
