During the First World War che incelligence activities in che Bulgarian army
amacced acrencion and chis was due to the vasr experience gained in che Balkan
wars, and a premise was the existance of che revolutionary organization IMARO,
which supplied cadres for the incelligence service as well as providing che basis
for the successful functioning of che imdligence syscem.
Afcer che end of che war with Serbia the incelligence activities were concen·
uaded in the division scaffs. wichouc the scaff of the Parrisan Decachmenc losing
rbe righe co give common directions and insrructions. Lacer on, the iotelligence ac·
rivities were concencraded in the hands of the army commander.
