           &om 1he Partisan Deraclunenr. lt is logical, because at that cime che de1achmenr
           conrrolled che basic part of che imelligence cadres on rbe Tessaloniki &onr.  lo ad·
           dition che  basic efions of che inrelligence seccion were conrroUed,  as has  already
           sa id, at rhe main operarive·stralegic cenrers ar Srrouma and che Vardar. But ocher
           incelligence groups were operacing in chese areas -  the groups belonging to rhe
           border barcalioos aod ro  rhe  7th  lnfanrry Rila Division. Their scouts cooperaced
           with their collegues from the Partisan Detaclunem and ofcen tbe data, received from
           them,  was  cransfered  ro  the Detachmenr's point~ for gathering informarion.
               The incelligence service in rhe  6th border batta.lion, whose commander was
           in  Petrich, was manned by rnlsted and experienced reservists &om the barcalion,
           who were familiar wicb  tbe counuy-side and with che  population. They were or·
           gaoized  io  rhe  following way:
           l) along the front- the h ili "Visoka chouka heigh1'' (north of ilie Bourkovo Lake)
              -  a group of ilie scouts periodically penerrated Eagean Macedonia and madc
              inquiries around che  villages, Sbougovo, Mamirsa -  near Demicssar, where
              chey,  and chrough !oca! agents, collecred  che necessary  information abouc che
              region  in  the  vaUey  of Poroy  and  on  che  mouncaio,  Krousha  -  north  of
              Koukoush;
           2)  along the front- rhe Kalebair height- the River ofSrrouma (where the river
              crosses che border): another grou.p of scouts emered Greek renirory aod madc
              inquiries in the regio n around che village Boursouk and in che region of Secces,
              data was gathered in rhe same way, and men wenr as far as the Demirssar, Serres,
              Nigrira,  Negovan, Gjuvesna  (Gvozdevo),  Lagadina, Thessalonike;
           3)  at the front -  the River Strouma, and on the mouncain  Aliboroush -  a  rhird
             group made inquiries in  rhe region of rhe viLlage,  Etleshnirsa, and penerrared
              in  che same way up  ro  Demirsar and Serres.
               The links berween che groups and the barcalion was ensured by couriers. The
           information, which was received was processed and added co datas, rece.ived from
           the poinc for gathering informauon in Petricb: afrer char all the  informarion was
           senr to the intelligence sec:tion of rhe Pa.rrisan Detachment. The im~lligence service
           of the  barralion  was  under the command of tbe leader Tasko  Sroilkov !23l.
