organiscd on Bulgarian rerrirory along che whole BuJgaro-Greek border, induding
O br id, Progradccs and Elbasan. The main functioo of tbc poinrs and plaroons was
colleccing- inrelligence. Ar thc same rime rhey gavc help ro che local cornmanders,
especially in organising the coumerimclligence (counrerspionage) in the border d.is-
rricr. The inrelligence which funcrioncd wcsr of tbe River Tcherna were joined co
the inrelligence secrion of rhe Firsr Army sraff. Larer, whe.n rhe l J rh Gcrma.n army

Bu.t a common direttive for thcir a([ivities was given by the sraff of rhe Parrisan
Detachmenc. The larer was a Iso responsible for supplying men and marerial, as well
as for thc paymenc of salades <9>.
Lncelligencc gamering was mainly concenrrared oo che Srrouma and Vardar
valleys. Because the offensive of che Anglo-French troops could be expecred in rhese
