       formacion which was received was senr co  che scaff of che division and co thc sta/T
       of che army.  At che same cime, wich  che assistance of che  company commanders
       of the 3rd and 4th border companies from  che 6th border battalion  in  che  village
       Piperitsa and Pc:[[ovo -  che  Mclnik region, cwo  local points (or gachcring infor-

          Missions chac che  imeUigc:nce  service of thc division  had  co  carry  out were
       organiz.cd  in  che  way dcscribed  below:
       l )  Anglo-French  troops -  thc:lr screngch, composicion  and acrivicy  in  che  valley
         of che Rjver Scroum\1 and ncnr  che Orphano Gulf; r.hcir  behavlor cowards che
         local inh:abirancs  w11s  of special  imerese;
       2)  Grcek croops: position, screngch nnd composition in che areas mc:nrioned above,
         cheir  activities and  forcifìcntions;  che  behavior  of che  Greek soldiers cownrds
         che Anglo-French und che Bulgaro-Gcrmans croops; che siruacion reg:uding rear
         guard rroops and supplics ml.
          The inrelligencc aniviry of the 7rh bordc:r banalion in Ncvrokop, was not or·
      ganiz.ed so well by the commander Smnislay Krayovsk i. There werc only cwo couri·
       crs who once a week  traveled ro Drama and Serrcs, carrying the information rhnr
       had been gathered. The missions which had ro be carricd ouc were co verify daras,
       rcgarding the garrison  in  Drama -  the number of regimenrs and banalions; rhe
       kjnd o( croops -  infanrry on arcillery, and che weapons, machine guns etc.  with
       which the fons  were equipped.
          In organiting the intelligence service some omissions and mismkcs were made.
       For example,  in  some of the regjons,  the groups were duplicared -  in one and
       che sa me region different groups, sem from different placcs, set up and a cci ve. Such
       was che case in che viUnges, Ovaya and Serres, where groups,  senr by 6th border
       banalion and che  intelligcnce section of che  Pardsan Decachmem ofcen  garhercd.
