When we talk about consequences of war we must not forget the importance of European
Armies need of supply during the Napoleonic Wars. Because the supply system relied on lo-
cal resources the civilian society was dragged into war. The consequences of war in the age
of Napoleon were connected to the military supply systems. The farmers and burghers of
Europe had to pay a high price for the insufficient supply system of the European armies at
the time. The marching armies brought poverty to the people of Europe.
