And thus, to keep to their commitments, said Ginevra and Ilario, already
mentioned, pledged with a security and mortgage in favour of said Elia-
na all the succession property, past and present, of said Mr Pietro. With
waiver to any exception on the items mentioned above and on any other
different from those written above and confirming that they did not act in
this deed with fear of malice, nor subject to other rights. All these things,
and each single thing written above, Mr Venanzio Tellaro of Camoreno,
doctor of laws, judge and assistant of the Podestà of the city and of the
district of Genoa, sitting in the courtroom, at the usual judge’s bench, his
full authority and that of the Commune of Genoa being acknowledged…

The name of Lanzarotto Malocello is again mentioned in the third nota-
ry deed, that of 1391, as the deceased husband of Eliana Malocello, of the
noble Fieschi family, who remarried to someone who remains unnamed.
