                  In 1912, Tripoli was conquered by the Italian landing fleet, which ended
               the Italo-Turkish War; as we see, a renewed interest in Italian colonial con-
               quests had also brought on a renewed interest for heroic Italian navigators.
                  Thus, finally, Amedeo Pescio devoted an entire chapter to Lanzarotto,
               following the one on the Vivaldi brothers and before the one on Nicoloso
               da Recco, but it is a disappointment to see that chapter is made of only six
               little pages, written moreover in very large typeface, which facilitates the
               reading but reduces the number of words. Moreover, the six pages (cor-
               responding to three of the previous texts) are reduced to a compilation of
               earlier sources with only two new elements:
