       1936. 1n  1937 che Japanese invaded China.

       inrervened  in  che  Civil  War  in Spain.
           While these evencs  fuse  screngthened isolationism  in che  Uniced Sraces  and
       fo.rmed  che  imponam background which enabled the American Neutraliry Accs
