Given the success of the Eastern
Forces in assaulting the Iraqi de-
fenses at the coastal axis, instruc-
tions were issued by the Joint
Command to attack Hafr Al Baten
axis through Northern Forces area.

On February 25 1991, the GCC
Forces succeeded in penetrating
the Iraqi defenses in depth and ac-
complished their missions before
the specified time and with mini-
mal damages due to joint coopera-
tion, good training and preparation
and high morale of these forces.

On February 26 1991, the forces penetrated the frontline to a depth of 20 kilometers,
and at the end of the day the forces took positions enabling them to pave their way to-
ward Kuwait City.

At the beginning of February 27 , the Gulf and Arab forces moved from the south and
west toward their assigned targets inside the city, and by 2:30 PM they liberated the city
and eliminated the resistance pockets of Iraqi Forces.
Therefore, it can be said that the GCC Forces through their alliance and cooperation
achieved more than their expected targets. Also, due to the solidarity of the GCC peo-
ples, victory was achieved and precious Arab land was liberated; i.e the Land of Free
Kuwait.
UAE Armed Forces Axis

- On February 24 , at 4:00 A.M, the UAE Force took advanced positions on the Saudi-
th
Kuwaiti borders in preparation for attack as part of the 10 Brigade of the GCC
Forces and it was part of the brigade front ready for attack. Furthermore, our field
engineering platoon participated with the Saudi Saif Allah Battlegroup in opening
breaches through the opposite force obstacles.

- On February 24 , by 6:00 P.M, the UAE Battlegroup completed its advance inside
the Kuwaiti soil for a distance of 23 kilometers.

- On February 25 , the UAE Battlegroup continued its attack toward enemy positions
close to Abdullah Port and occupied enemy positions.
- On February 26 , the UAE Force continued its advance toward Abdullah Al Salem

Al Subah Air Base.

- On February 27 , the UAE Force continued its advance toward the oil wells area at
Al Ahmadi, and the infantry company departed at night toward Kuwait City.
Participant forces in the Desert Storm Operation (Phase 2) returned home on March
